Fun Fractions

We have been refreshing our learning on fractions in Room 6. We wanted to look at fractions in everyday use.
We looked at half today, used the symbol 1/2 and produced all these halves.
We looked at our lunch and found food cut in halves and also we cut some food in half.

We produced halves from blocks. We used clay to make a half.

We discussed having 1 out of 2 scoops of chocolate on our ice cream cone.

We used an app 'Pizza 1' to practice our fractions,

and we made half with our paper and paint pizzas.

Can you make halves at home?
Take a photo and check out Room 8's blog to learn how to post it so everyone can see.

  1. On Saturday only 1/2 of Jakes rugby team were at the game, even so they played well and won their game. Jake even got p.o.d!
