Today we played a new game. The game was called Rats & Rabbits. The goal is to be as fast as you can with the ball. The idea is that you run to the cones before you are tagged. If rabbits are called they run past the orange cones. If rats are called they run to the yellow cones. If either team are called and get caught then they join the other team.
Too be good at this game you need to:
- be a fast runner
- have quick feet to get away really quickly
- listen carefully
- use your brain to make the right decision so you need to be able to make quick decisions
The game starts with instructions called, "Straight like a solider," "hockey positions," and the team yell "he".
Students first run then introduce dribbling a ball when they get the idea of the game.
Stop the ball moving using sticky stop. Put stick out in front and turn over to place on ball.
Rats get a ball rabbits get a ball.
If say Rats, Rabbits leave their ball there and try and get rats ball so you have two balls. Tap tap dribble to the cones to be safe. Two hands must be on the stick for tap tap dribble.
Have a go at playing this game at your school and tell us how you went?
